Ja es ist wohl das stärkste Laster der Demokratie, aber auch Diktaturen sind davon belastet. Mehr Geld ausgeben für Bestechungs-Versprechungen an die Wähler als man einnimmt. Dadurch wird der Sinn einer Aufhebung der Schuldenbremse auch ausser Kraft gesetzt.
Von nichts kommt nichts, durch Ankurbeln des Konsums durch Schulden wird m.E. nichts erreicht, ausser ein späteres, stärkeres Zusammenbrechen.
Geld kann man nur durch Richtiges und das Leistungsprinzip dahinter, dass das Richtige erreichen will, generieren. Und das ist gute Arbeit und Leistung mit guten, der Nachfrage entsprechenden Waren bringen sowie Innovationen erfinden und durchsetzen. Alles andere ist m.E. leer und entspricht nicht wirtschaftlichen und geistigen Gesetzen.
Und zum Richtigen geführt zu werden und das Richtige tun zu können, dazu braucht es die geistige Grundlage und da ist das richtige Verhalten und Meditation, Weisheitssuche und Softskills der Weg dazu. Und so schließt sich der Kreis zum Schulfach Glück, dies einem Erwachsenen schon als Kind die Grundlage für sein Leben mitzugeben.
Auch in den USA sehe ich Zölle als nicht sinnvoll an, sie reduzieren die Leistungsfähigkeit durch fehlende Konkurrenz. Auch das Erzwingen Wollen des Dollar als Leitwährung wird m.E. nicht viel bringen.
Wie gesagt von Nichts kommt Nichts.
Natürlich kann man da auch anderer Meinung sein und die meisten Entscheider sind wohl anderer Meinung. Dann werden wir mal sehen wo wir damit hinkommen. Nehmen wir halt noch einen Schluck aus der Buttel

Yes, it is probably the most powerful vice of democracy, but dictatorships are also burdened by it. Spending more money on bribes to voters than you take in. This also overrides the sense of lifting the debt brake.
Nothing comes from nothing. In my opinion, stimulating consumption through debt achieves nothing, except a later, more severe collapse.
Money can only be generated by doing the right thing and having the performance principle behind it that wants to achieve the right thing. And that is doing good work and performance with good goods that meet demand, as well as inventing and implementing innovations. In my opinion, everything else is empty and does not correspond to economic and spiritual laws.
And to be guided in the right direction and to be able to do the right thing, you need the spiritual foundation, and the right behavior and meditation, the search for wisdom and soft skills are the way to achieve this. And so the circle closes with the school subject of happiness, giving an adult the foundation for his life as a child.
I also don't think tariffs make sense in the US; they reduce performance through a lack of competition. And trying to enforce the dollar as the reserve currency won't achieve much either, in my opinion.
As I said, nothing comes from nothing.
Of course, you can have a different opinion and most decision-makers probably do. Then we'll see where that gets us. Let's just take another swig from the bottle...
